Welcome to the first functional Makinov website.
It's taken a little time, it's taken a little
effort (and I do mean a little) but finally it's
here.
So what is this site I've stumbled upon you may be asking yourself, well I'll tell you. Makinov is a name I've come to go by with my video work, the aim of the website is to give you the opportunity to follow along the journey of making films, including my first feature, The Night Porter. There's a long road to be travelled before The Night Porter will see an initial start date, but there are many othe projects in the pipeline filling the void until then. Two projects are taking the lead ahead of the rest currently. Minky, the story of a young girls imaginary friend and the night they say goodbye, and also a short untitiled piece concerning an evenings work for a hitman.
'Surely, ou have a real name?' I hear you ask. Well yes I do, ordinarily I go by Jonny Clooney. I work primarily in Graphic Design, but what good is pigeonholing yourself, right? In addition to writing and directing the output you see here, I tinker with sound from time to time and over the coming months you may hear some of that. Here on the site the aim is to allow you to follow along with all the goings on during filming on any of the projects. You'll also get a chance to meet those that help out with behind the scenes footage. Oh yes.
As well as working on productions of a fictional nature, I'm also part of Xynthetic, a small skateboard company originally started by good friend Gavin, also known as JamFactory. In 2005 Xynthetic released the short promo DVD 'Don't', which you can watch online along with an introduction to the Xyn family on the Xynthetic section of the site. Next year will see the release of the follow up to 'Don't'.
The site will be constantly updating from here on in (fingers crossed!) so keep checking back for more updates on current projects, and information on upcoming projects.
