Our Story: From Bristol to the East Midlands

Makinov (meaning ‘Making Of’)  originally began in 2005 as an alias for graphic designer Jonny Clooney, who started out producing documentary-style videos for a UK art collective.

A move to Bristol in 2008 opened the door to collaborations with some of the city’s award-winning video production agencies and world-class organizations, including Aardman Animations and the BBC’s Natural History Department.

In 2019, Makinov relocated to Nottingham, bringing over a decade of high-end, South West industry experience to the creative heart of the East Midlands.
